On Thursday, February 17th Dan Morehead ’87, a trailblazer in the crypto and blockchain investment sectors joined us for a fireside chat. As Founder and CEO of Pantera Capital, the firm was the first institutional asset manager in these sectors and, since 2013, has invested across the full spectrum of digital assets and blockchain technologies. With $5.6 billion under management, Pantera Capital launched the first cryptocurrency fund in the U.S. in 2013 when bitcoin was at $65/BTC. The firm subsequently launched the first blockchain-focused venture fund. In 2017, the firm was the first to offer an early-stage token fund.
PEC was excited to host this virtual fireside chat (moderated by Laurence Latimer *01, co-founder and CEO of Dinara) during which Dan opened with some introductory comments and then shared insights and perspectives about cryptocurrencies, emerging blockchain technologies, solutions across DAOs and DeFI, and investment opportunities. The fireside chat concluded with audience Q&A.
